Starcraft II Inspired Door
After watching the Starcraft II cinematic featuring the Terran Marine, I immediately wanted to recreate this part of the video. This is the door which the prisoner walks through to be outfitted in his gear.
I used subdivision modeling in 3D Studio Max to model everything. I obviously didn't keep this game resolution. This was never meant to be a real-time piece.
The textures were pretty straightforward on this piece. After unwrapping everything, I created a diffuse, bump, and reflection map and tried to mimick every detail from the original shot. The reflection map really helped a lot. I lit and rendered this scene using Vray.
